BedRooms

After a busy day of work and looking after your loved ones, time comes for rest and sleep but also for romance and laughter.  The bedroom should be that special lovely place that is just yours and shared only with your life partner.  It should be a place where you love to spend time in, an oasis from life’s stresses.  It should be relaxing, beautiful and inspiring.

Design & Furniture

How you place your furniture in relation to the doors and windows is important. For example it is not a good idea for the person laying in bed to be able to look directly at the toilet bowl in the master bathroom. Never clutter your bedroom. Keep the room tidy and place the minimum amount of furniture in it which you decided need and will use. Try to maintain symmetry in the bedroom. It is best that we place identical bedside lamps and tables on the sides of the bed.

Paint & Wallpaper

Paint your bedroom the color that brings you calm and makes you happy.  Warm colors are meant to ignite romance and passion but choose soothing shades of color to bring tranquility. Basically we recommend that you use toned-down shades of your favorite colors in the bedroom.  You can fill your bedrooms with tranquility and passion by using the right wallpaper.  For example you can install a mural that brings in a touch of paradise with a beautiful forest scene or a wall full of cherry blossoms.

Lighting

Science has shown that exposure to natural sunlight increases the brain’s release of the serotonin hormone which can create a feeling of calm, boost your mood and help you focus throughout the day.  Place your bed in a way that will bring in that happy, natural light unto your body in the morning.  You must keep your bedroom as dark as possible at nights which triggers the brain to make melatonin, the sleep hormone.  Darkness at night also strengthens your immune system.  So use a block out curtain if necessary to achieve that total darkness.Choose your lighting carefully.

Place any wall sconce lighting 50 – 60 inches from the floor.   Use bedside lamps that are 18” to 24” tall.  You need light to read but you do not want the light to shine directly in your eyes.  Bedrooms need between 10-20 lumens of lighting per square foot.  Add a dimmer switch to get the right level of lighting at anytime.
